Mission Statement
Northside Christian Church
"Growing dedicated followers of Jesus one step at a time, through worship, community, service, faith and mission."
Children's Ministry
"Partnering with families to grow followers of Jesus, one step at a time."
Our Focus
ORANGE is the focus of our Children’s Ministry. The concept of ORANGE is that two forces joined together have a much greater impact and influence than when they stand alone. Thus, red represents the family unit and when combined with yellow, the church, we have a dynamic, influential, and eye catching force known as ORANGE, the combination of both. We put our mission statement into action and equip families to become DYNAMIC FOR GOD!
Loblolly Meadow (Birth – 30 months)
Early childhood classes are provided for all services in Loblolly Meadow. The classes are staffed with paid and volunteer workers. The children are separated based on age and developmental abilities.
The two year old class (25-30 months) consists of a Bible based lesson, taught during both services, using the “First Look” curriculum (www.myfirstlook.org).
We believe our children are never too young to begin learning: God loves me, God made me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever. If you are new to Northside please visit our Guest Information section.
Parents visit our Parent Resource section for additional information.
Mockingbird Falls (2 1/2 – Pre-K)
2 1/2, three's, four’s and Pre-K children experience a small group/large group setting on Sunday mornings in Mockingbird Falls. They praise God in an exciting and entertaining large group and then break into small groups to further explore the concepts discussed in large group.
The program offered during all services. The goal is to “Teach with the End in Mind” using the Rethink curriculum, “First Look” which is built around three basic truths:
- God Made Me
- God Loves Me
- Jesus Wants to be My Friend Forever

The Depot (K – 3rd Grade)
Kindergarten through Third grade experiences a small group large group setting on Sunday mornings in The Depot. They experience God in an energetic and educational large group and then break into small groups to dig deeper in God’s word and create relationships with one another. “252 Basics” is the curriculum that is used and is built around three basic truths every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52.
- I need to make the wise choice.
- I can trust God no matter what.
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Each Basic Truth is amplified by a weekly key concept and systematically taught over a
three-year-track. The curriculum includes 150 Bible stories and is based on a Core Virtue and Memory Verse as the framework for each month.

The Summit (4th – 5th Grade)
The Summit is the peak of the Children’s Ministry; our Pre-Teens (4th and 5th Grades) will embark on a journey to equip themselves in order to make a smooth transition from elementary into Jr. High and our Youth Program. Before each pre-teen promotes to Jr. High it is our hope they will:
- Know Jesus loves and accepts them unconditionally
- Be familiar navigating the Bible and discovering applicable knowledge from God’s Word
- Be comfortable praying
- Respond respectfully to those in leadership
- Develop a sense of mission for their life

Guest Information
It is our desire to create an engaging, interactive environment for your child. Here are some policies and procedures we have put in place to help ensure your child’s safety and care:
- All entrances to our children’s area are monitored before, during, and after each service. You and your child will each receive a corresponding numbered security tag when you check-in at a kiosk. You must present your tag when you pick up your child—no exceptions. All of our volunteers have had a background check and are carefully trained to ensure the safest environment possible.
- We provide a number of different options for our special needs children. Please email Julie@Northsidechristian.com to determine the environment best suited to your child.
- Children are accepted into the classrooms 15 minute prior to the service. Only parents/guardians who have a security tag are allowed to enter the classroom portion of the children’s area.
- Children who show signs or symptoms of a fever or any other contagious diseases are not accepted.
- It is imperative that a guest registration form be filled out for each child visiting Northside. Just print it out and bring it with you filled out to expedite this process. If you are unable to print, we do have copies at our check-in locations available when you arrive. At this point, your child will be added to our database and will receive a printed sticker. Our welcome team will greet you and introduce you to our Children's Area.
- Please label all of your child’s belongings. We discourage parents from allowing their children to bring their own toys into class with them, as it is easy for them to be misplaced or forgotten.

Parent/Child Interaction Activity
Each month a Fuel Pack is provided for every Preschool and Early Elementary child. The Fuel packs purpose is to “fuel” the family up with God’s Word. It consists of at home activities to reinforce the Sunday activities for the month.
Please make sure you grab one on your way home the FIRST Sunday of the month. This is a great, guided way to learn about God together, parent and child.
