Dear Tribe of Northside,
Life can get a little crazy at times, wouldn’t you agree? Juggling family, career, activities and even church can drive a person just a little batty. Adding to that craziness would be a pretty good list of things like… the economy, our work environment, natural disasters, politics… just to name a few!
And speaking of crazy, we have experienced some crazy growth as a church over the last two and half years… especially in the area of our children’s department. As of this writing we have broken attendance records two weeks in a row in that department alone! We are definitely living out our mission of, “Welcoming everyone, wherever they are, to become growing followers of Jesus.”
We may just be a little crazy ourselves for going into a time of sacrifice and commitment in order to expand our capability of ministry. But we would be even more crazy not to take this next step faith to welcome one more child. Think about the story of when Jesus took a little child in his arms and said, “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.” Mark 9:37 (NIV)
The Apostle Paul tells us in the book of 2 Corinthians, “If it seems that we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:13 (NLT) Would you and your family prayerfully consider joining me and the leadership of Northside on a crazy journey as we seek to reach more children by adding to our facility? Begin praying now about your financial commitment to this crucial ministry.
I’m so grateful that we are on this adventure together.
Blessings,
David

How long do I give?
You will receive a Commitment Card and be asked to fill out the card with the amount you intend to give over a three year period. You may give weekly, monthly, annually, a lump sum or a combination of the above. Most people prefer a system of regular giving; however, you should make your decision based on God’s will and the best method for you.
What about my regular giving to the General Fund?
Your commitment to the “Crazy Campaign” should be an amount God leads you to give over and above your regular tithes and offerings. We must maintain our giving to the general operating budget so that day-to-day church operations will be unaffected. You can still write one check for your giving. Simply indicate on your check how you would like your offering designated (split) each time.
How should I give?
On November 13, each family will be asked to bring a “First Fruits” offering as we celebrate what God has done and is going to do in the life of our church. This offering will be us initial funds to begin the building process. Ask God for creative ways to increase your gift. Involve your whole family in raising a specific amount for your “First Fruits” offering.
Second, you can also make a pledge to give. The giving period will last for three years starting November 13, 2011. You can give far more when it is spread out over time, and you may choose to give weekly, monthly, or even make annual payments. Please select the best giving schedule for you and your family. Also, remember that you may give regularly by setting up “Bill Pay” through your bank account. All you have to do is set up a bill for Northside Christian Church (and address) and your bank will send your offering to the church.
How will I know how much to give?
The Bible says, “Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessings of the Lord, your God, which He has given you.” Deuteronomy 16:17. Pray daily and allow God to open your heart and direct you about your commitment to the “Crazy Campaign”. Again, your gift, whatever the amount, should be an over-and-above gift. To split your current giving between the general operating expenses and “Crazy Campaign” would not be beneficial and would endanger our ability to minister in the present. You are also asked to not give from your “abundance” or “left-overs”. We must all sacrifice to make the “Crazy Campaign” possible. God never asks us to give from our left-overs but from our “firsts”.
Will my contribution be made public?
No. Absolutely not. Only the total of all commitments received will be announced on Sunday, November 20. We do ask you to sign your card so your commitment may be entered into our CCB financial system and will appear on your yearly statements. This way you can keep track of your giving to the “Crazy Campaign” at any time by logging onto CCB on your computer.
I still have questions. How do I get those answered?
There are a couple options:
1. Be in worship service October 23 through November 13.
2. Talk to one of our “Crazy Campaign” Leadership Team, church staff or one of our Elders.
